Amy Sheldon’s final year project shows how photojournalists and documentary photographers are increasingly exploring the potential of multi-platform projects to showcase their work and build networks. Amy’s Trove Gallery website is a creative collaboration with local designers and makers. Amy describes her project saying “The artisan industry is growing. Crafters and makers are attracting shoppers like you and me who desire something bespoke and personal. Mass produced items often offer little to no charm or real special value. The makers that I am photographing for this website propose something different. I have seen a change in my local area due to a surge of independent creative businesses. This has brought our rich creative heritage back into modern life and is spurring life back into our struggling high streets.” By working in partnership with these talented makers Amy is using her photographic skills to contribute to the resurgence of craft and design in Stoke-On-Trent and the surrounding areas. We wish her the best of luck in building her website and business!
